The sound is a little more fleshed-out and less extreme than the s/t LP, less drowned in reverb. Which is good, because under his wildman howling and monkeypaw guitar strangling there are always catchy powerpop tunes to be found. With this new sound they go from "barely recognizable" to "almost recognizable" - it suits him well. A1 and B2 both appear on the LEMONS LP in not-that-radically-different versions, so this isn't essential if you're already going after LEMONS anyway, but as-is, it's another fine piece of mania from Mr. Segall.
