Summer Fling is The Red Hot Valentines' second album and was recorded in January 2003 at Mark Rubel's Pogo Studios (Hum, Shiner, etc) in Champaign. The album perfectly captures the band's blend of power-pop with an authenticity previously witnessed only through the band's live performances.
The "notebook" packaging theme was conceptualized by the always-great Gregg Bernstein at Hydrafuse. All of the photos inside were taken by the band with a fancy Polaroid i-zone that the Polyvinyl staff picked up at Target for twenty bucks.
