来自美国新泽西的歌手/吉他手Alan Paul在2005年来到中国北京后，和口琴/Lapsteel吉他手Woodie Wu武萌科组建了这一支Blues乐队，Alan的美国式幽默在给乐队取名字上又得到了发挥，他把两个人的名字放到了一起，"Woodie Alan"这个和大导演伍迪.艾伦谐音的乐队名字就一直叫到了现在。之后，贝斯手张咏，萨克斯手Dave Loevinger和鼓手卢炜的加入让Woodie Alan的阵容固定为五人组合，并一路走到了今天。
2009年3月，格品唱片发行了Woodie Alan乐队的首张专辑"Beijing Blues"，这是一张有着十首原创音乐的传统Blues音乐专辑，专辑的背面写着一些行业内人士的推荐:
