For ages, spiritual alchemists have been aware of a powerful force which transforms negative human energy into positive. This force has come to be known, metaphorically, as The Violet Flame; and it has inspired all that embodies Forged In Violet’s euphonious spirit.
In 2003 FIV began as an experimental project between Damon Degner (vocals) and Dan Booth (guitar). Their shared vision was clear: To combine the flowing, cyclical energy of club music with the live presence and production of rock music. Although the project’s initial work was encouraging, it soon also became clear that their limited experience with electronic music production would not suffice in bringing their music to it’s full potential. One year later they met DJ/Producer Evan DeRolf, who completed the vision and pulled Forged In Violet into it’s true element. The trio possess years of entertainment industry experience in former bands and as a club DJ-- as well as stage and sound production, record label business operations and event productions.
Validating their philosophy, the Denver-based musical alchemists of Forged In Violet deliver their unique, hybrid sound; which stands in contrast to the stagnant, predictable and homogenous nature of many popular music genres today, Forged in Violet’s music and performance have been described as a “high energy, multi-media assault on the senses.”
