Since the mid-1990’s Einaudi has composed music for a number of Italian films, his style especially suiting soundtrack projects. This film "Sotto Falso Nome" (Under A False Name) was made in 2004 and was to get a UK release, but remained on import, until now. It was directed by: Roberto Andò and stars: Daniel Auteuil, Greta Scacchi, Anna Mouglalis, Giorgio Lupano and Magdalena Mielcarz. Musically there here is plenty for Einaudi fans to savour. Born in Turin in 1955, Einaudi studied piano and composition at Milan Conservatory, and then with Luciano Berio. His early compositions were standard classical works, but in the mid-eighties he began to search for a freer and more personal musical language, leading to the ambient and contemplative style he is well-known for today : a fusion of eclectic styles, drawn from traditional classical, minimalism and collaborations with world musicians to rock groups such as Coldplay and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His music speaks directly to a wide audience: his best-selling CDs remain high in the classical charts, and his piano recitals sell out the major concert halls around the world.Edel.
