Argentinean-born tango jazz bassist Pablo Aslan's second ZOHO release presents a quintet of leading Buenos Aires jazz musicians, including Astor Piazzolla's grandson! Aslan's spacious hybrid of tango and jazz finds the common ground in both. The songs are by eight of tango's twentieth century masters, some of whom are nearly forgotten. Aslan is a member Pablo Ziegler's Quintet, and has performed and recorded with Grammy winners Shakira, Joe Lovano, Gary Burton, and more.
