The Brooklyn-based producer known as Ayatollah has been lacing New York MCs--both underground and commercial--with slick beats since the mid 1990s. On Louder, his third instrumental release in two years, Ayatollah continues to develop his trademark production style, relying on generous doses of Soul, Funk and Jazz loops with a sound that ranges from hauntingly subtle to upbeat and bouncy. Impressively, Ayatollah flips a ringing piano loop from 'Linus And Lucy', the Peanuts theme song on 'Charlie is Brown.' 2008.
