Formed in 2003 by long time friends Patrick Carey and Matt Stoessel, the Ginger Envelope developed and grew over the next year, adding Jason Robira (percussion), Jason Trahan (guitar) and Steve Miller (bass). These three emigrated from LaFayette, LA with the now-defunct art-rock group, the Urbosleeks, on the wings of a ten year creative run. With the new creative energy of the quintet, Carey led the band into deeper territory, bound together by Stoessel s pedal steel. Edible Orchids is an immersive work of incisive, cutting songs played with confidence, taste, beauty, and passion. Carey and company have a keen sense of song, and each one of these is a complete and whole work, capable of standing alone, but better together. Jason Robira is a member of Dark Meat and Steve Miller is the bassist for Venice Is Sinking
