Keiji Haino has represented the cornerstone of the Japanese underground for some 30 years, and has performed internationally for the past 25. His list of collaborators reads like a phone book of underground music artists: Bill Laswell, Derek Bailey, John Zorn, Ruins, Merzbow, Masonna, Boris, Ikue Mori, Joey Baron, Peter Br??tzmann, Thurston Moore, Charles Hayward and more. For 25-odd years, Haino has also served as front man for Fushitsusha, a band that many consider to be the world's greatest power trio. This release represents an amazing, unedited live performance blending electronics, hurdy gurdy and vocal work for 90+ minutes with no breaks, and offers an impressive look at Haino working his craft in front of an intimate home audience on a Tokyo night. The heavyweight cover design is a beautifully letterpressed three-panel layout that, when fully folded out, measures 5" X 18". Fonts are Kanji with English translations, and the front cover features a full bleed letterpress photo of Keiji Haino at work on electronics from said performance. Both black-on-black CDs are attached to the cover with small, round locking hubs. The entire package folds down to 5" X 6" and is slipped into a clear sleeve for storage. A piece of art and unlike any other Haino release to date, with layout and design elements executed by noted designer Stephen O'Malley.
