'... Benediction, Draw' is Akira Rabelais' third major work, a 71-minute piece for electric guitar, processed with Arge?phontes Lyre, his very own audio software, consisting of a set of time domain filters performing esoteric algorhythms. Artist's notes: “these tracks are all between eight and ten minutes. They're all guitar. They were recorded as dry monaural streams directly into my laptop and filtered only with Arge?phontes Lyre. They're all single takes and there's no multi-tracking. These songs descend from a series of pieces i wrote between 1987 & 1989 but never recorded.” Basically eight tracks of processed electric guitar signals, not a million miles away from Keith Fullerton Whitman's amazing 'Playthroughs'. 70+ mins that feels like 30. Recommended.
