A treasure trove of lost jazz from Japan -- all compiled by Sleepwalker, who are making some pretty great jazz tracks on their own these days! This time around, the ultra-hip Shibuya series digs through the catalog of the Columbia/Takt label -- to pull up some wonderful numbers that groove like classic 60s work from American labels Blue Note & Prestige. The tunes are some of the hippest jazz recorded in Japan at the time -- and swing wonderfully between soul jazz, hardbop, and modal jamming jazz.
