I heard this album at its release in the early '70's. It was wonderful! The vocals are driving and soulful. Ms. Greene was reminiscent of Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin -- right there with Carol King. She utilized the Muscle Shoals sound, but infused every cut with her own moving phrasing and interpretation. More than thirty years later I still find myself singing some of the cuts from the album: "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem;" "Peter Put Away Your Sword;" -- I lost my copy of the album years ago, but would certainly like to locate one now.
