在哥哥五十岁生日即将到来的时候，Leslie Legacy Association（LLA），这个由香港、中国大陆、日本、韩国、意大利及美国等国家和地区的有心哥迷组成的非牟利团体，准备举行一系列慈善纪念活动，将哥哥的精神贯切到底！
About “Gor Gor” 《哥哥》, the remembrance song
This song came into existence on 2 April 2003, the second day after the departure of Leslie. In the next two years that followed, it became very well-known but still, nobody knew who wrote it or sang it. From the beginning till then, we only knew it was the work of someone who called himself by the name of “有心人”.
Looking back at those days of immense sadness and helplessness when tears and words could no longer express our grief for the great loss, this song《哥哥》gently touched and comforted many broken hearts with warmth and compassion. “When the wind blows again, I’ll think of you” are uncomplicated yet touching lyrics that befittingly express fans’ unfailing love for Leslie. Many pain-stricken hearts and tearful eyes found comfort and peace in these lyrics during those long, sleepless nights. “有心人” is indeed someone with heart.
Not only were the lyrics, the tunes and the vocal appreciated by us, the low profile the singer/song writer chose to keep was well respected. After its birth in April 2003, the song《哥哥》spread on the internet in no time. Before long, it was widely known as a very special remembrance song that deeply touched the hearts of numerous fans. Even so, “有心人” continued to stay invisible behind the song and never brought himself out into the public.
This went on until one certain day after two years, when “有心人” released his own album without any prior promotion. The then already well-known, long-time favourite 《哥哥》, in spite of its potential, was not marketed to sell as the album’s hit song. It was not circulated to the radio stations to promote sales either...Perhaps the fans of Leslie are likewise, people of good intentions who, having taken all of this to heart, started to follow traces which, however small, would eventually lead them to discover the album, the key to the riddle.
Lum Hon Yeung is the singer and the song writer of 《哥哥》. He works in the music industry and had his own albums before. In an interview conducted by the “Southern Metropolis Daily” following the exposure of his identity, he talked about the creation of this song while earnestly saying that he was not quite qualified as a “die hard” fan of Leslie. He even felt that he was “not qualified to write the song”, but added that “I don’t know how I did it. It was like being called upon.” When asked why he was so low-keyed, his answer was – “I did not do it intentionally. It is just that I can’t be high profile on this.” Whether it was airplay of the song by the media, or offers to buy the rights of the song, he never accepted a penny. Quoting it in his own words, “This song is not for sale. I wrote it specially for Leslie. That’s just like a gift. The song belongs to everyone, I hope. I don’t want it to be involved with money in any way.”
This time, he still won’t accept a single penny. The song will be his gift to people all over the world who love Leslie. His good intentions give LLA the opportunity to produce this DVD for release on the 3rd anniversary of the passing of Leslie. All proceeds received from the sales of the DVD, after deduction of production and administrative costs, will be donated to ORBIS, an independent, non-profit blindness prevention organization which works in some of the world's poorest countries.
Thank you, Hon Yeung. Not only have you given us the most beautiful gift for pure remembrance of our beloved Leslie, you have also given a gift of hope to the less fortunate ones. Every one who loves Leslie takes pride in the grace and dignity that comes with your respect for him.
